BUADI SACAYO, Marawi City: Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal “Bombit” Adiong Jr. and Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra have allowed rolling stores to ply towns to address the needs of residents.
Adiong said the project was launched on March 23 to ensure the residents have access to affordable basic food and commodities without traveling outside their municipalities.
“Overpricing and hoarding would be avoided and barangay (village) constituents in the would be able to purchase reasonably-priced goods without having to travel far,” he noted.
But, Adiong appealed to residents that they should observe social distancing and only one member of each household will be allowed to buy from the rolling store. After purchase, the buyer must immediately go back home.
Among the municipalities that they have served are Taraka across Lake Lanao and Marantao and Bacolod both located at upland towns. The rolling stores will stay in a barangay for at least 45 minutes.
The rolling stores sells products at suggested retail prices. The products available are rice, eggs, vegetables and spices, sugar, salt, oil dried fish, coffee, milk, poultry, fish bread, biscuits, canned goods, tissue, diapers, detergen soap, bleach, and bath soap, among others.
